I love when Mike has a break from school. With no projects or studying to be done, he's more chipper and feels free to do anything, too bad we're not more adventurous. Since he's been home a little bit more too, he's decided that we need to re-due our organization system. No complaints here, although I was a little surprised to see Mike want to build or craft something. Usually I'm the one using tools on random mini projects. I was excited to see him in action and am pretty proud of our end result.

This year we were at Mike's parents for Christmas. We enjoyed games and movies Christmas eve, spent the night there, then a fun day of Christmas followed by Dean's amazing smoked BBQ for dinner, with of course more games that night. Next week we'll celebrate again when Amy (Mike's sister) and her family are in town. Maybe then we'll even venture out and play in the snow- we're not too fond of the white stuff.

Thanksgiving at my parents'

Mike and I went to my parents last week and had a blast. Too bad it's all over and went so fast.

(Here's all the fam together- Little Dane, Delyse, big Dane, Hazel, Mike, me, Dallin, Dia, Dad, Dessa, Mom)

After eating the big dinner at the Stolworthy's, we enjoyed a good old desert flood on the porch.

(and a few rounds of Chicken Foot)

Visiting my family

A few weeks ago I flew to Henderson to see my family and enjoyed running errands, soccer games, a wedding and time with the family and friends. Can't wait to go back down for Thanksgiving!

Missing the Fam.

Yesterday I got this lovely picture text and am now way bummed that I don't live in Vegas too so that I can see the Family everyday. I think I'm missing out on some fun. Even though I swore off ever living in Vegas again, I'm reconsidering it.

(My sister's baby Hazel.)

(And another picture text of them getting her to eat dog bones. Poor girl, guess it's good for her. Not the bones, the fun experiences.)

My first Trip to Vegas

For the first time ever, I was going to live the "Vegas Experience", family not included. It really wasn't any different from anytime I have been down there, Cheesecake Fac., Shopping and tons of walking. I don't think Vegas is really worth the hype considering our live style, maybe if we were into beer, skanks, slots, way to high priced fashion and clubs, we can eat and sunbathe anywhere. At least we had Mandalay Bay, that was worth the trip. We spent as much time as we could bare in the sun body surfing, getting fried and swimming. I did learn that it really sucks to know you intown but not planning to see the fam. It was fun though to do once. Mike really has a great job and great co-workers that just happen to be friends.

Getting some new hobbies.

We're starting to collect hobbies- Well, at least the gear for things, we'll see how successful we are with time. Some of our hobbies tend to die fast. After Mike gets his bike I'll have to make a post for that, this post is about MY NEW SEWING MACHINE, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took some convincing for Mike to understand why I would need to spend a lot of money for machine when it's cheaper and cooler to buy clothing. He's got a point so I did compromised with the price, but still I wanted one even if my attempts to make clothing are complete failures. There's still plenty of things I want to make that aren't clothing.

I ordered this machine this morning but it turned out that a shipment came in so I was pretty thrilled to get it early. I figured out the machine and whipped up my first project (a case for our hot dog roasters, nothing requiring any skill to make) all while Mike was playing ball. I wanted to be able to say, "hey, look at what an amazing thing I can make and so quick." Then maybe it would seem more practical to have.

You've got to love summer baseball games and the fireworks after. I don't know what we did all winter?

You're my favorite!

The post is really only about how much I wanted to tell Mike I LOVE YOU. Mike, YOU'RE THE BEST.

The little trials we go through really just open our eyes to the amazing things we do have. We sort of had a bad day today, so we took the day off together. Spending that time talking and sharing, really reminded us of what blessings we do have and for me, WHAT AN AMAZING HUSBAND I HAVE. I wouldn't want any one else to spend the bad days with.

Saturday we had fun with the Flakes up AF Canyon. Since we've had such crappy weather, we've had to try to find activities that didn't involve swimsuits. We didn't go on any crazy trails or anything- I really prefer a nice relaxing ride to just enjoy the scenery, no thrills or scares. It was so pretty the higher up we went. We could see the river along side the whole way with a lot of great camping spots. We didn't have to go too high before we were seeing snow on the ground and it even started snowing during our picnic.
We had our little picnic before we decided to head back down. We tried to start a little fire to warm up but failed miserably with every piece of wood being so wet. Here, Mike decided to leave out little mark, so sweet! The whole trip Tae was such a trooper, even sleeping through some of the drive.
