Game Night

We had fun with Jones and Flakes last night (like always). We enjoyed some Dalmuti, with hats- something my sister introduced us to.

And some Penny in a pot- I don't know where Mike and Matt heard of this game, but it was new to me. You slice away flour until the penny falls, then person that makes the penny falls has to get the penny from the flour- It gets a little messy. Good thing we only played enough rounds for Mike and Matt to both loose.

Boys Night. Girls Night. (3.1.09)

We knew the boys were going to have a poker night (they just love it and we don't mind as long as it's not at a casino and someone goes home a winner- $2 bucks can go a lot farther), so we planned ahead for the girls. We had a blast getting pedicures- but the other girls will have to post pictures.

We made it back in time for the boys to play, but we weren't done having fun. After Whitney and Britt's singing game (again, some one else can post those pics-Jess if you post a video and I'LL KILL YOU!) Basically the game is to watch someone wear a blind fold and sing along to an Ipod blasting. You sound terrible since you can't hear yourself, that's where it's fun for others, but it actually ends up being very liberating as you start to relax and sing louder- since you can't hear how bad it is, you just enjoy being in your own world.

Then we found another way to entertain ourselves sliding down the stair. When laundry baskets don't work, how about a baby mattress.

If you can't tell, they were trying to have a little train ride.

We're having ................

A Little GIRL!

We're really excited, especially to know that she's healthy and growing strong! There's nothing like getting a little glimpse into my growing gut, although it still doesn't always feel real. Even feeling her little movements still amaze me.
-
Being sick for the first 3 months then moving into the chubby stage, it's now that I'm getting a clue at how amazing having a kid can be. It definitely makes you not feel so horrible as you watch your body change so much. I just hate the little fears that creep in sometimes.

What will she look like? Who knows?

Getting back to some painting.

I decided to take a Watercolor class in the evenings at UVU to make myself paint. I'm loving it. I've only played with watercolor maybe twice before and it really is so different from other paints- but is a much faster process that fits my impatience. I've really needed to work on techniques and getting that confidence back. To see a little more, check out my art blog.

Draper Temple Tour

We had the chance to go to the Temple open house with Mike's family. It's gorgeous inside. I recommend going if you get the chance- or just check out the slide show on KSL.

Lava Hot Spring

We spent a fun MLK weekend with the Flakes and Jones in Idaho dong a little sledding, monkey ball, games, good grub and some site-seeing of down town Lava.

Handyman

I love when Mike has a break from school. With no projects or studying to be done, he's more chipper and feels free to do anything, too bad we're not more adventurous. Since he's been home a little bit more too, he's decided that we need to re-due our organization system. No complaints here, although I was a little surprised to see Mike want to build or craft something. Usually I'm the one using tools on random mini projects. I was excited to see him in action and am pretty proud of our end result.

Christmas

This year we were at Mike's parents for Christmas. We enjoyed games and movies Christmas eve, spent the night there, then a fun day of Christmas followed by Dean's amazing smoked BBQ for dinner, with of course more games that night. Next week we'll celebrate again when Amy (Mike's sister) and her family are in town. Maybe then we'll even venture out and play in the snow- we're not too fond of the white stuff.

Thanksgiving at my parents'

Mike and I went to my parents last week and had a blast. Too bad it's all over and went so fast.

(Here's all the fam together- Little Dane, Delyse, big Dane, Hazel, Mike, me, Dallin, Dia, Dad, Dessa, Mom)

After eating the big dinner at the Stolworthy's, we enjoyed a good old desert flood on the porch.

(and a few rounds of Chicken Foot)

Visiting my family

A few weeks ago I flew to Henderson to see my family and enjoyed running errands, soccer games, a wedding and time with the family and friends. Can't wait to go back down for Thanksgiving!
